Fire and emergency medical service in Wayne Township is provided by the Wayne Township–Duncan Falls Volunteer Fire Department, a separate organization with its own website.

For non-emergency questions — burn permits, a smoke alarm, station business — call the department directly at 740.674.4444. The township office cannot answer department questions.

Open burning
Ohio restricts outdoor open burning during March, April, May, October and November between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. under ORC 1503.18. The current advisory is on the township news board, and the department can answer questions about a specific burn.
